Rhodes Ballet's 2019 Annual Productions

Coppelia Coppelia Ballet

Known as one of the three major French ballets, "Corbilia" is the only classic ballet that is loved by the world with its humorous story theme. It was composed by the great French composer L. Delibes (1836-1891) and written by Charles-Louis-Étienne Nuitter. The content of the story is derived from two stories written by ETA Hoffman (1776-1822), The Sandman Der Sandmann and the doll Die Puppe (The Doll). The first premiere was interrupted due to the French War, but it has become the most performed ballet in the ballet to date.
The whole play is divided into three acts and two scenes. The content of the story is that the old man Coberliu is a toymaker. The human idols he made are lifelike. The Bo's family went to meet the rumored beautiful daughter Corbilia of the old Cobb. After some banter, Franz finally understood that it was too ridiculous to let the beautiful Sjuanetta not love a puppet Corbilia.
The classic ballet always makes people look at it again and again. The Rhodes Dance Troupe once performed the modern ballet version of "Ke Billia" in Kaohsiung in 1996. Now they are launching the classic version of the classical ballet [Ke Bi Liya Asia], and invited Taiwanese overseas ballet dancer Yixuan Wang and main dancer VINCENZO TIMPA of the Leipzig Ballet in Germany to act as the leading male and female protagonists of this performance. I believe it will be a highly visible visual feast. "Corbilia" is an exquisite performance that is suitable for all ages and is worth savoring and appreciating carefully. Especially fans who often watch Rhodes' performances often miss the rich and diverse visual and dance performances. In the past ten years, the Rhodes Dance Company has produced a large number of new talents, and this dance drama will be a high-visibility visual feast for ballet fans.
